Hanft Fride Announces 2018 Minnesota Super Lawyers and Rising Stars
Duluth, MN: Hanft Fride is pleased to announce the recognition of attorneys Charles “Huck” Andresen, Bill Burns, John Kelly, Jennifer Carey, Cheryl Prince, Tom Torgerson and Jacob Baker who were recently named to the Minnesota Super Lawyers list for 2018. Attorney Scott Witty was named a 2018 Minnesota Rising Star.
“Hanft Fride is proud to have eight of our attorneys receive this recognition and highlight their success again in 2018,” said Jennifer Carey, President of Hanft Fride.
Andresen, Burns and Kelly were each named to the list for the 16th time. Andresen practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate law, mining and mineral law, boundary and title correction matters and access and easement issues. Burns practices in business law, private and public financing of business enterprises, zoning and real estate development, healthcare business issues and mergers/acquisitions. Kelly practices in the areas of personal injury defense, insurance law, commercial litigation and professional liability defense.
Carey and Prince have each been named to the Minnesota Super Lawyers list for over a decade. This is Carey’s 15th consecutive year and Prince’s 13th consecutive year. Carey practices in real estate, estate planning, business law and commercial finance. Prince practices family law, handling cases involving both simple and complex property division, maintenance and custody issues. She also serves as a mediator in a wide range of disputes.
Torgerson earned his fifth recognition in the Minnesota Super Lawyers honors. He practices in commercial litigation and also has an active employment and labor law practice. Baker practices in estate planning, probate, trust administration and family law. He has been recognized repeatedly with Minnesota Super Lawyer and Rising Star honors. Witty has been named a Minnesota Rising Star for seven consecutive years and practices in the areas of civil litigation, employment law and municipal law.
Hanft Fride also demonstrated once again that great lawyers are found outside of the Twin Cities metro area as they garnered two spots in the Top 100 Minnesota Lawyers and one in the Top 50 Minnesota Women Lawyers. Jennifer Carey and John Kelly were two of only four lawyers from outside of the Twin Cities metro on the Top 100 list. Hanft Fride President Jennifer Carey was the only lawyer on the Top 50 Minnesota Women Lawyers list from outside of the Twin Cities metro.
Super Lawyers is a part of Thompson Reuters and selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process on an annual and state-by-state basis. The objective of the program is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Only 5% of attorneys are selected to the Super Lawyers lists and only 2.5% of attorneys are selected to be Rising Stars.
Congratulations to all the attorneys that received recognition in 2018.
