Five Hanft Fride Lawyers Recognized As Top Attorneys in the U.S.

Hanft Fride is proud to share that five outstanding attorneys have been recognized in the 2019 edition of The Best Lawyers in America (Best Lawyers). Charles (Huck) Andresen, William (Bill) Burns, Jennifer Carey, John Kelly and Cheryl Prince were acknowledged by their peers for their exemplary work in various legal practice areas.

This marks the second year in a row that Charles Andresen, Of Counsel, was recognized by Best Lawyers for his outstanding work in litigation and real estate law. Andresen focuses his practice on real estate and property law and is certified as a Real Property Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. He also received the Real Property Section Distinguished Service Award.

Bill Burns has been recognized by his peers with this accolade for his work in real estate law each year since 1989. Burns is a shareholder and attorney at Hanft Fride and has practiced real estate, business, commercial finance, health and municipal law for over 30 years. Burns is also a strong supporter of legal services for low-income individuals and is dedicated to serving his community. He has been an active member of many boards throughout the region over the past few decades.

Jennifer Carey, President of Hanft Fride, has been listed in Best Lawyers for five years for her practice in the areas of real estate law as well as trusts and estate planning. Carey has long been a supporter of educating attorneys and has authored many publications and given lectures on various real estate topics. She has been recognized by her peers as a Minnesota Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law & Politics each year since 2004, including Top 100 Minnesota Super Lawyers from 2015 to 2018 and Top 50 Women Minnesota Super Lawyers from 2010 to 2018.

John Kelly has earned a place within Best Lawyers for 25 years and is a current shareholder and attorney at Hanft Fride. He focuses his practice on legal malpractice law and has over 40 years of experience as a trial lawyer. Kelly is a frequent instructor in trial advocacy programs and is committed to passing on his knowledge. In addition to Best Lawyers, Kelly has been recognized as a Minnesota Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law & Politics and was named as Minnesota Attorney of the Year in 2003.

Cheryl Prince, shareholder and attorney at Hanft Fride, has been listed in Best Lawyers for five years. Her passion and 30+ years of experience practicing family law make her one of the state’s top family law attorneys. As well as local mediations on a wide range of disputes, Prince serves as one of a select group of attorneys acting as mediators for the Minnesota Court of Appeals family court mediation project. She has also been recognized as a Minnesota Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law & Politics for the past twelve years.
