Amalia Ellison became a part of the Hanft Fride litigation group as an associate attorney in May 2024. At Rutgers Law, Amalia’s enthusiasm for trial advocacy began when she had her first opportunity to represent clients in court as a certified student attorney with the Domestic Violence Clinic and the Housing Advocacy Clinic. While in law school, she gained additional experience in trial and appellate advocacy through moot court competitions, including an international moot court competition at Oxford University in England. She was honored to be a recipient of the Dean’s Pro Bono Publico Award for “exceptional service to the community” by completing over 100 hours of pro bono work during law school.
Before joining Hanft Fride, Amalia honed her practical experience working with clients and courts during her time at the St. Louis County Public Defender’s Office and the Baltimore County Office of the Public Defender-Juvenile Unit.
She looks forward to applying her passion and experiences to zealously represent clients at Hanft Fride.
